Bruce Davis

President, Public Progress

Bruce Davis is President and chief instigator at Public Progress, a consultancy focused on communications, community outreach, development consulting and project management, with a strong emphasis on quality, safe, affordable housing. A self described housing nerd with 30+ years at the intersection of business, government and the public, he has supported more than ten Rapid Housing projects since 2020, guiding community engagement and project delivery. He has long worked on policy and social justice issues, from advancing non smoking and pesticide bylaws to being the first Returning Officer in Canada to enumerate homeless voters, launching Out of the Cold programs and managing the City of Kingston’s encampment working group. A former Toronto District School Board trustee, he now sits on the board of the South Etobicoke Community Land Trust, holds both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal for community service, and divides his time between Toronto and Kingston, Ontario.

Eric Cohen

Senior Consultant, Public Progress

Eric Cohen brings deep executive and governance experience to Public Progress and its non profit housing clients. Recently retired from a long career as a senior executive with the Ontario Government, he led major files in finance, procurement, project management, planning, communications, policy and systems development. For more than 15 years he has helped grow non profit and affordable housing in Toronto, serving on the boards of the Ridgeford and Brenyon Way Charitable Foundations and overseeing multiple towers in Scarborough, including a new 180 unit building and a two tower, 300 unit project now under construction. He has also served on the board of the Ontario Non Profit Housing Association, is an active member of HousingNowTO, founding board chair of Renew Non Profit Housing Corporation, and has held board chair roles with a community service organization, a private school, and as a City of Toronto appointee to the Canadian National Exhibition Association.
