Our Mission

The Black Canadian Housing Fund (BCHF)  exists to provide affordable, and stable housing for Black Canadians by leveraging partnerships, mobilizing capital, and advocating for systemic change in the housing sector. We focus on acquiring, managing, and developing properties that offer affordable, long-term housing solutions designed to support the economic advancement of Black Canadians.

Our Mandate

  • Secure funding and partnerships to acquire, develop, and operate quality l housing units that address the unique needs of Black Canadians.

  • Implement housing models that prioritize tenant stability, inclusivity, and affordability, creating pathways for personal and economic growth within our communities.

  • Collaborate with like minded government bodies, developers,  community organizations and industry suppliers to optimize resources, scale impact, and strengthen the housing ecosystem for racialized communities.

  • Act as a catalyst for policy reform and greater equity in the housing market, working to eliminate systemic barriers that limit housing access and affordability for Black Canadians.

  • Creating opportunities for and supporting the development of,  Black Canadian housing developers, operators and service providers in order to create a more diverse Canadian housing sector.

  • We focus on acquiring and managing affordable housing properties while partnering with local experts to deliver tenant-centered management, ensuring sustainable and inclusive housing solutions for Black Canadians.
